One known case has now been confirmed in Howard County, Maryland as of March 10, 2025. It is believed that this case has no connection to the measle outbreaks in Texas and New Mexico. The person has recently traveled internationally.
The health department is attempting to notify anyone who has been exposed, measles is contracted via airborne and direct contact, if you or someone you know has visited any of the following locations during these times frames, please contact the health department.
- Washington Dulles International Airport: Terminal A, on transportation to the main terminal and in the baggage claim area
- March 5th, 4:00 pm – 9:00 pm
- Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center Pediatric Emergency Department
- March 7th, 3:30 pm – 7:30 pm
