We are proud to announce that Elizabeth Di Giacomo RN, CpedN(C), BScN, MSc received the Canada Graduate Research Scholarship – Doctoral (CGRS D). This funding program in Canada is similar to the NIH NRSA F awards for PhD students in the United States.. The CGRS  D program recognizes and supports the next generation of outstanding innovators, knowledge workers, creative thinkers and researchers. By providing support for a high-quality research training experience to awardees, the program strives to foster impacts within and beyond the research environment.
This is a competitive grant with only 20% of awards allocated to students studying outside of Canada. This award will help fund Elizabeth’s dissertation work focusing on gaps in the pediatric tuberculosis care cascade in South Africa. This work recognizes that children are a key demographic in the fight against TB, and that more equitable, family-centered, and contextually responsive care models are needed.
